Anna University organizes a talent and job fair

Anna University will host Techknow 2022, a talent and job fair for students, on April 22-23. The two-day event will include a seminar on seven emerging sectors that could provide jobs for engineers over the next five years.

The All India Manufacturers Organization and the Consortium of Indian Associations partnered with Anna University for the event. The consortium of self-funded arts and science professional colleges supports the initiative.

Organizers have identified sectors likely to provide jobs for more than 15 lakh engineers over the next five years. At the event, which will be held on the university campus, 15 industry professionals will speak about growth prospects and student expectations, said KE Raghunathan, chairman of the organizing committee.

Students can opt for in-person or online participation for a nominal fee. The in-person presence will provide the opportunity to participate in a talent and job fair to be held on April 22-23. Employers and students can sign up for www.techknow.2022.in. Some companies will conduct one-time job interviews.

At the talent fair, employers offer to identify students from the second semester and partner with them until they graduate to prepare them for employment.

To encourage entrepreneurship, students and those who graduated within the past three years were invited to submit their ideas or projects on the website by April 10. A jury would select the best project and the winners would receive cash and financial support. Anna University’s incubation center will support the initiative. University Vice-Chancellor R. Velraj is the chairman of the advisory committee for the event.
