By Jeff Montgomery (January 14, 2022, 3:54 PM EST) — The Third Circuit on Friday rejected embattled attorney Michael Avenatti’s efforts to ban the friend of the court from a free speech group opposing his Jurisdictional attempt to revive and withdraw from state court a dismissed federal libel suit against Fox News in Delaware.
Circuit Judge Peter J. Phipps granted without elaboration the Institute for Free Speech’s request, filed in December, to proceed as amicus curiae and file a brief in support of Fox News and of 11 commentators and journalists accused by Avenatti of making defamatory statements about his arrest in California in 2018 on suspicion of domestic violence…
