Ghislaine Maxwell trial – live: photos of Epstein shown to jury after court heard he had wired millions to socialite

Ghislaine Maxwell trial: the second accuser testifies

Prosecutors in the trial of Ghislaine Maxwell, a British socialite and former partner of Jeffrey Epstein, began on day seven of the six-week trial by showing jurors photographs illustrating Ms Maxwell’s relationship with Epstein.

Ms Maxwell, 59, is accused of preparing teenage girls for the abuse by the convicted sex and financial offender. She has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges against her.

The footage, uncovered when FBI agents seized CDs from Epstein’s Manhattan home in July 2019, also include photos of two of Ms Maxwell’s accusers in various states of undressing, Reuters reported.

Judge Alison Nathan, who is presiding over the trial, agreed the photographs were relevant because they showed the relationship between Ms Maxwell and Epstein, who were a couple in the 1990s.

The photographs contain images of a witness using the pseudonym ‘Kate’ who said Monday morning that Ms Maxwell prepared her for sex with Epstein, bought him gifts and made him wear a schoolgirl costume.

In the afternoon, details of financial transactions between Epstein and Ms Maxwell were presented in court and FBI agents recounted the 2019 raid on his New York townhouse.

If Ms Maxwell is found guilty, she faces up to 35 years in prison.

Mr. Flatley reads a file created by GMax on October 14, 2002.

“Jeffrey and Ghislaine have been together, as a couple, for 11 years. They are, contrary to what many people think, rarely separated – I almost always see them together.

“Ghislaine is very intelligent and great company with a ready smile and an infectious laugh that always puts one by one [sic] facilitate.”

New witness: Stephen Flatley, FBI

The next witness is Stephen Flatley, coordinator of the FBI Computer Analysis Response Team, digital forensic examiner, and Quantico instructor.

He is shown a computer hard drive and identified as the one he examined in the Epstein case.

When asked what organization is saved for the hard drive, he replies “GMax”.

Mr. Flatley is reading an email from a Mindpsring domain address with the username GMax1 – Ghislaine Maxwell. It consists of a list of complaints about a lack of paddocks and water in a black Mercedes Benz and a dirty pool deck. She also notes that the massage creams in Epstein’s bathroom were a mess.

At one point, she asks which list John is using – an apparent reference to the housekeeper Juan Alessi whom she called John and who had given her a 58-page housekeeping manual.

“I need to know which list John is using and he needs to understand that he is doing a really horrible job.”

The email is dated May 25, 2001.

Jury expected to see photos of Maxwell-Epstein relationship

Jurors are expected to see photographs depicting Ms Maxwell’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein on Tuesday, Reuters reports.

The footage was discovered when FBI agents seized compact discs from Epstein’s Manhattan home in July 2019.

The cache of digital photographs includes images of two women who accused Maxwell of serving them to Epstein as teenagers in various states of undress, Reuters noted.

Judge Allison Nathan conceded that the photographs were relevant and admitted as evidence that of a woman not included in the indictment.

She said she would consider admitting the other, who is a woman who testified earlier Monday under the pseudonym Kate.

Maxwell’s defense attorney Laura Menninger, who said some of the photographs could have been altered, argued prosecutors should have shown the photo while Kate was on the stand to give her the option of the authenticate.

Maxwell’s lawyers want to exclude testimony from “Jane’s” brother

Lawyers for Ghislaine Maxwell plead for the exclusion of the testimony of the brother of “Jane” the first accuser to testify against the socialite in disgrace.

“Brian”, like his sister also using a pseudonym, is called by prosecutors to substantiate his testimony, however, the defense team claims that “Jane” contacted him after testifying.

Defense attorney Laura Menninger said “Jane” told “Brian” that Maxwell’s attorney was a “curse rhyme with” forehead. “

Judge Alison Nathan is concerned that some witness framing has taken place, although the persecution claims that “Brian” informed the government of his conversation with “Jane” and insists she is not. go into details.

The defense wants to know exactly what was communicated to them by “Jane” before he takes the floor. Judge Nathan says he shouldn’t testify before lunch.
