Summary of Qualifications
GS-7: To qualify for the GS-7 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience in providing trial support to attorneys by accurately preparing complaints, motions, subpoenas, orders, or other court and/or trial materials and in an appropriate format; check citations and statutory references contained in legal documents; assist in discovery, trial, or trial preparation by performing tasks such as compiling trial books, assembling jury instructions, and compiling witness and exhibit lists; and use legal and non-legal software applications and databases to produce legal reports and documents, conduct factual research, develop tables of contents and indexes of factums, and prepare courtroom presentations. To qualify, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may be required later.) Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP) – ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal Competitive Service employees with screening priority over other applicants for open positions . If your agency has notified you in writing that you are an ICTAP-eligible displaced employee, you may receive priority selection if: 1) this vacancy matches your ICTAP eligibility; 2) you apply by following the instructions in the advertisement; and 3) you are qualified for this position. To be well qualified, you must meet all qualification requirements for the vacancy and receive a score of 85 or higher on the established ranking criteria. You must provide proof of eligibility to receive priority selection. This proof may include a copy of your written notification of ICTAP eligibility or a copy of your separation staff action form.
